Punjab Government told farmers to block PM Modi's convoy says Manohar Lal Khattar
PM Security Breach: CM Khattar slams Punjab Govt.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar accused the Punjab government of risking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life by urging farmer leaders to obstruct his convoy’s passage to Ferozepur on Wednesday.
Mr. Khattar made the claim in the aftermath of a TV news channel’s sting operation on PM Modi’s security, which supposedly showed the “SHO” of the relevant Punjab police station informing the channel that he was directed “to block the throng and highways” and “he carried out these instructions.”
In a Haryana government statement, Mr. Khattar was quoted as saying that “the CID (Punjab) had also warned that an alternate route might have to be planned in the wake of bad weather conditions”.
“Rather than making any plans, the Punjab administration gave farmers direct instructions on how to block the Prime Minister’s way. They’ve put his life in jeopardy as a result of this “According to the statement, Haryana’s chief minister
Mr. Khattar and the state’s Home Minister Anil Vij had previously chastised the Channi government over PM Modi’s security breach, citing a news channel sting in which some Punjab Police officials allegedly told the channel that they had informed their superiors about protesters blocking the route of PM Modi’s cavalcade but that no action was taken.
